Weekly Summary - 9/29 - 10/3

I hope that everyone have a great weekend. This week the cadets will be required to learn Platoon Drill and Ceremony movements, Uniform Inspection and Physical Fitness training. The PHS JROTC Instructors are very excited to continue with your education and we are looking for ways to assist cadets that need help in JROTC or with other classes. Last, the AJROTC battalion staff will prepare for JROTC Accreditation Program (JPA).

Listed below is the schedule for the week of Sept. 29th – Oct. 3rd.  

Monday – Drill and Ceremony (All)
Essential Question: Can cadets identify the three types of uniforms? Do cadets know the different types stationary movements?

Tuesday – American Military Traditions, Customs, and Courtesies (LET 1) and First Aid for Poisons, Wounds, and Bruises (LET 2) / Cadet Portfolio (All)
Essential Question: What makes the military different than any other uniformed services like police and firefighters, and Merchant Marine? How do you give first aid for poisons, wounds, and bruises?

Wednesday – Sexual Harassment /Assault (LET 1) and Hot Weather Injuries (LET 2)
Essential Question: What are the causes and consequences of sexual harassment? What can you do to prevent and / or stop sexual harassment and assault? How can heat injuries be treated and prevented?

Thursday – Uniform Class (ALL)
Essential Question: Do cadets know how to wear the Army uniform?

Friday – Physical Fitness (All)
Essential Question: Do cadets know how to choose the correct exercise program?

Weekly Summary 9/22 - 9/26

I hope that everyone enjoyed their Fall Break and is ready to continue to learn. The PHS JROTC Instructors are very excited to continue with your education and we are looking for ways to assist all cadets that need help in JROTC or with other classes. Last, the AJROTC battalion staff will continue to prepare for the JROTC Program for Accreditation (JPA).

Monday – Drill and Ceremony (All)
Essential Question – What are stationary movements and how are they used during drill? What are squad formations and how are they formed?

TuesdayReading for Meaning/Stars and Stripes (LET 1) / First Aid for Burns (LET 2)
Essential Question How Can Reading Enhance My Study Habits?  How do we display and honor the American Flag? How do you treat and prevent heat, electrical, and chemical burns?

Wednesday Common Assessment / Cadet Portfolios (All)
Essential Question – What study skills and test-taking strategies can cadets learn to enhance their performance as a learner? What can you use a Career Development Portfolio for and what does it consist of?              

Thursday – Uniform Inspection (All)
Essential Question Do cadets know how to demonstrate the proper wear of the uniform for cadet appearance?

Friday – Physical Training (All)
Essential Question – How can JROTC cadets choose the right exercise program for them?

Monday – Class – Signs of Success (LET 1) / The Need For First Aid / Your Response (LET 2)

How are Cadets recognized for their accomplishments while in JROTC? How do you assess First Aid situations?

Tuesday – Class – Study Habits (LET 1) / Controlling Bleeding (LET 2)

What study skills and test-taking strategies can Cadets learn to enhance their performance as a learner? Would you be able to save a life by providing first aid to a bleeding victim?

Wednesday – Drill and Ceremony (All)
